Geo. Polland [Poland] Died Sunday
Attack of Pneumonia the Cause of His Sudden Death
Mr. Geo. Polland (Poland) who lived on the Gates dairy farm north of town died Sunday from an attack of pneumonia. His death was very sudden and unexpected for in the morning he was up and around and felt sufficiently well to eat breakfast. His death occurred at two in the afternoon.

Mr. Polland [Poland] was a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. I. Stanhope, formerly of this place but now located at Ottosen, Iowa. He leaves a wife and five children, the oldest of whom is only fourteen. Mr. Polland [Poland] was a good working man and made a good citizen.

Funeral services were held at the house Tuesday morning, Rev. Lesher preaching the sermon. Interment took place in Oak Hill cemetery.

The sympathy of the many friends of the widow and children is extended to them in their great loss. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 8, 1902)
