E. D. Igou died suddenly last Saturday evening at his home on South 15th street of a heart attack. He had been off duty from the Mahlum and Anderson furniture store but two days with a cold. His condition was not considered serious, although he had not been in the best of health for several months.

Ezra Dewitt Igou, to his friends Ed, had resided in Estherville for thirty years and for the past twenty years had been connected with the firm of Mahlum and Anderson. He was a pleasant man and made a host of friends. He was born at Ellsworth, Ia., July 30, 1878.

He is survived by his widow and two children, Mrs. Allen Philbrook Smith of Maple Wood, N.J., and Raymond of Algona.

The funeral services were held on Wednesday from the home at two o’clock and from the Presbyterian church at 2:30, Rev. Claude Fausnaugh officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 31, 1938)
