ROY E. FRENCH PASSES AWAY
Illness of Two Years FatalRoy E. French, 62, a barber in this city for the past 26 years, passed away at his home on the west side of the river on Tuesday [Oct.13.1936] after an illness of two years.
He had been a barber in Estherville for 26 years before suffering a stroke two years ago which forced him to retire.
Mr. French was born in Jones county and when a lad his parents died and he was reared by his grandparents. He resided in Clay county and later in Dickinson county.
He is survived by his widow, one son Irvin of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. L. L. Jones of Estherville and Mrs. R. M. Butler of Cherokee.
Funeral services were held today at two o'clock at the home and at 2:30 o'clock at the Church of Christ with Rev. Fred Sawyer officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.
