DOLLIVER — Percy Burdette Herum, 79, Dolliver, died at his home Friday morning.
Services for Mr. Herum will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Palestine Lutheran Church, rural Dolliver, with :the Rev. Lewis Davidson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Herum was born July 23, 1897, in High Lake Township in Emmet County. He received his education in rural schools and attended Jewell College one year.
He was married to Leona Iverson Dec. 15, 1921, at Estherville, and farmed northwest of Gruver until his retirement in 1964, when he moved to Dolliver.
Mr. Herum was a member of the Palestine Lutheran Church, serving on many church boards, served on the Dolliver School Board for 18 years, and on the Lincoln Township Board and ASC Board. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Leona, Dolliver; two sons, Dr. Floyd Herum, Columbus, Ohio, and Kenneth Herum, Dolliver; seven daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Coral) Saha, Estherville, Mrs. Harley (Norma) Rosburg, Estherville, Mrs. Ed (Vivian) Montgomery, Dolliver, Mrs. Roy (Lila) Resh, Bettendorf, Mrs. William (Annette) Wenzel, Ceylon, Minn., Mrs. Ellis (Wilma) Herrick, Grand Junction, and Mrs. Michael (Lois) Swanson, Trimont, Minn.; 38 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Forest Peterson, Graettinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville from Sunday until noon Monday, when the body will be taken to the church.
