Duane Valen, 13, Dies; Victim of Rheumatic Fever

Duane Robert Valen, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Valen of Ellsworth township, died Tuesday evening from rheumatic fever. Funeral services have been planned for Friday at 2 p.m. at the Valen home and at 2:30 p.m. in the Palestine Lutheran church with burial in the Palestine cemetery.

Duane is survived by his parents, a brother, Arvld, and five sisters, Maxine, Jane, June, Phyllis and Beverly. His grandparents also survive.
