Heman B. Woll, Sr., died Wednesday [30 Apr 1975] at his home in Hillsboro, Washington Co., OR. He was born May 25, 1895 in Estherville, IA to Carsten and Mina Woll. He was educated at Estherville and attended Redwing Seminary for two years. He and his wife Lucille were married April 5, 1929 in St. Paul, MN. He received the Distinguished Cross during World War I. A retired saw mill operator, he was a member of the Hillsboro Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Hillsboro. He had lived in Hillsboro for 26 years. He was survived by his widow, sons Herman, Jr. who was the Hillsboro Chief of Police for a number of years, and Arthur; also, daughters Karen McKinchan and Joanne Curnes of Beaverton, OR; Carol LaDeRoute and Elizabeth Ann LaDeRoute of Hillsboro; Marie Opsahl of St. Paul, MN and Dorothy Randup of Fresno, CA, 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
