Pioneer Resident of This County
Mrs. Henry Rosburg, 71, a resident of Emmet county for 46 years, died just before midnight on Tuesday [March 1941] at the home of her son, Jesse Rosburg of Huntington. Mrs. Rosburg had been in poor health for some time and has been an invalid for the last several years.
She was born in Oberonbach, Germany, on April 25, 1869, and came to the United States when 18 years of age. Two of her brothers came to the United States first and when one of them went back to Germany to visit his parents, Mrs. Rosburg and a sister accompanied him to the United States.
She went to Van Horn, Ia., to live with her brother and was married when 20 to Henry Rosburg. The Rosburgs lived at Van Horn for a few years, then moved to Emmet county on a farm east of Huntington. About 40 years ago they moved to Huntington. Mr. Rosburg died four years ago and since that time Mrs. Rosburg has lived with her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Hagerman of Estherville until last October when she went to live with her son, Jesse Rosburg.
Surviving are five children, Mrs. Julia Schenck of Sherburn, Minn., Jesse Rosburg of Huntington, Harry Rosburg of Huntington, Frank Rosburg of Fairmont and Mrs. Hagerman of Estherville; 14 grand children and four great-grandchildren.
