MRS. B. K. ROKNE ANSWERS CALL OF THE GRIM REAPER
Aged Resident and Pioneer of Emmet County Was Called to Rest on October 1st.Mrs. Inger Johnson Moen was born March 16, 1842, in Muskego, Wis. On October 30, 1860 she was married to Mr. B. K. Rokne, and six years later the family moved to Emmet county, where she lived until she passed away on Sunday morning, October 1 [1916], aged 71 years, 6 months and 14 days.
Nine children were born to this union, five boys and four girls. Two boys and two girls have passed away. Mr. Rokne and five children survive; they are Lewis Rokne, Mrs. Knut Traefald of Mora, Minn., Erik, Andrew and Mrs. Lewis Isaacson of High Lake; also twenty-four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Peterson and Mrs. Christ Anderson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 4, from the home and from the Lutheran church.
Mr. and Mrs. Rokne are among the old settlers, having lived in Emmet county 50 years. They have contributed their share to the upbuilding of the county.
