Lifetime Resident of City Dies

A lifetime resident of Estherville, Joseph Benjamin Ringham, 68, died last night at 10:15 at his home of a heart attack. He had been in failing health for the past six years.

Mr. Ringham was born July 30, 1895 in Estherville, the son of Bringle Ringham, and was educated in Estherville schools. He was married to Florence Wells in Estherville on Sept. 23, 1919.

Mr. Ringham lived his entire life here except for a short time in Minneapolis and California.

He was employed for a time by the Rock Island Railroad, worked as an electrician for the firm of Sconberg and Kilgore, operated an electrical shop of his own for several years and, previous to his retirement, was employed by Hill Packing Co.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, one son, Elwin of Estherville, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Maurice of Estherville and Siegfred of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Brown of Estherville and Emma of California.

He was preceded in death by twin daughters and two sons, all of whom died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rawlin Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday at Reese Funeral Home after 9 a. m. Sunday and until services Monday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
