MRS. WILLIAM [HENRY] RILEY, 76, DIES; RITES TUESDAY
Heart Trouble Is Fatal to WomanMrs. William [Henry] Riley, 76, mother of Mrs. Charles Robinson, died at 6:15 Saturday [Oct. 17, 1942] at the Robinson home after a long illness caused by heart trouble.
Nellie Jean Lingenfelter was born Jan. 3, 1866 in Beaver Dam, Wis. She received her education in the Estherville schools and after finishing her education she was a teacher in the rural schools in Emmet county.
She was united in marriage Oct. 4, 1888, to William Henry Riley. They made their home on a farm near Estherville. Mrs. Riley was a member of the Baptist church.
Her husband, and two sisters, one brother and one half-brother preceded her in death. The sisters and brothers, Emily, Sarah, Will and Russell, died in infancy.
She is survived by two daughters, both of Estherville, Mrs. Grace Ghoslin and Mrs. Charles Robinson, and a grandson, Charles William Robinson, who is a member of the Armed Forces.
She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Martyr, Estherville, and Mrs. May Yost of Ten Sleep, Wyo., four brothers, Clark Lingenfelter, Estherville; George Lingenfelter, Renville, Minn.; Orlando and Frank Lingenfelter, both of Holliday, Minn.; one half sister, Mrs. Kenneth Dixon of Fort Dodge and one half brother, Lyle Lingenfelter, also of Fort Dodge.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Charles Robinson home and at 2:30 from the Christian church with the Rev. Fred D. Sawyer officiating. Mrs. Fred Sawyer and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson will sing with Mrs. Orin Manthe playing the organ. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Jay Howard, John V. Noel, Floyd Lakin, Orin Manthe, Phil Delong and J. E. Stockdale.
