PIONEER SETTLER PASSES TO REWARD
Mrs. Ole B. Peterson Died in Wallingford Home Tuesday, August 22

CAME TO EMMET COUNTY IN 1863
Survived by Her Husband, Five Sons and Two Daughters, Funeral Held Saturday Afternoon

Mrs. Ole B. Peterson, one of the pioneers of this county, died at her home in Wallingford August 22, at a result of a bad fall, that she had some time ago.

The resident pastor, Rev. Sevatson, gives the following interesting sketch of her life:

Miss Sigri [Tollefson] was born in Hol Hallingdal, Norway, December 4, 1848, from where she emigrated to America in 1861, coming to Clayton County, Iowa. In 1863 she came to Emmet County where she has lived since. On September 23, 1867, she was married to Ole B. Peterson. They lived on the Peterson farm near Wallingford until 1914, when they moved to Wallingford, where Mrs. Peterson passed away Tuesday evening, August 22, 1916, aged 67 years, 8 months and 18 days.

Ten children were born to this union, three daughters and seven sons. Two of the sons and one daughter have passed away. The seven who still live are: Mrs. Gertrude Wass, Lake Park, Iowa; Joe Peterson, Mobridge, S. D.; Peter O. Peterson, Horsgards, Alberta, Canada; Carl Peterson, Pequot, Minn.; Asher Peterson, Wallingford; Oscar Peterson on the home farm near Wallingford and Miss Roselia Peterson, who has lived with her parents. She also leaves two sisters and one brother together with a large number of near relatives.

Funeral services took place Saturday afternoon, August 26, from the home in Wallingford and the Lutheran church of which she was a member.

Mrs. Peterson was a person with exceptional rare qualities. Unassuming in her ways, by nature kind. With a pious Christian spirit, she was always ready to serve both in the home and in the congregation. She was one of the few of whom it may be honorably said that she had many friends and no enemies, of which the unusually large attendance at the funeral was a good testimony. She will be missed by all who knew her, missed in church at the hour of worship, missed in the Ladies Aid Society, missed by friends but most of all by her own family and especially by him at whose side she stood so faithfully nearly 50 years. Peaceful be her rest.
