O. S. Olson, the well known jeweler and optician, died at Ephiphany, S. D., last Thursday, at the age of 43 years. About a year ago he was stricken with consumption and two weeks ago Tuesday left for South Dakota in the hope he might secure relief there. But it was useless and he passed away after being there a little over a week. The remains were brought home, arriving here Saturday. The funeral was held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and was largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. Ginn and were under the auspices of the Masons. The interment was in Oak Hill cemetery. The pall bearers were Masons and Woodmen; the deceased having been an honored member of both orders. The deceased was a native of Norway but came to this country with his parents when quite young. He came to Estherville from Ruthven about four years ago. He is survived by his aged father and mother, wife and five children. They have the sympathy of a host of friends in their affliction.
