Mrs. Hans G. Hanson's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Peterson Hanson was born June 20, 1888 in Clinton, Iowa. On March 7, 1906 she was married to Hans G. Hanson of Emmet County, Iowa where the family has resided with exception of a couple of years spent in Montana. About a week ago Mrs. Hanson was attacked with typhoid fever, which with other complications brought on her death suddenly Sunday evening, August 23, 1914, at the age of 26 years, 2 months and 3 days. She leaves to mourn the loss of a kind wife and mother, her husband three children, viz. Hazel, seven years, Myrtle, four years and Howard, two years, also her mother, six brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Hanson was of a quiet character, sober and faithful, making friends of all whom she met. A large host of friends and relatives with many floral offerings met August 27 at 2 p.m. in the home to accompany the remains to the Swan Lake cemetery where she will rest until resurrection morning. Rev. T. J. Severtson conducted the funeral services.Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. Peterson of Fairmont, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Peterson of Fairmont, Hans and John Peterson, Round Lake, Minnesota, Mrs. R. Wall, Montana, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Guy, Montana, Mrs. Mason, Algona, Mrs. Kelson, New Hampton, Mrs. Christianson, Minneapolis, Arthur Olson of Canby, Minn. and Bert Peterson of Miles City, Montana.
