Services Wednesday For Mrs. Horswell
Funeral services for Mrs. G. S. Horswell, 72, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church, with the Rev. Roger D. Tappmeyer, officiating. Burial was in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Horswell died early Monday morning at the Schmidtke Rest Home at Ceylon, Minn. She had bee n in ill health for the past five years.
Anna Mary Amelia Wegner, daughter of Albert and Arica Wegner, was born March 23, 1889 near Cylinder. As a small child, she moved with her parents to the Armstrong vicinity where she lived throughout her life.
She was married to Garfield S. Horswell March 27, 1907. They farmed in the Armstrong area until 1947 when moved to Armstrong to make their home.
Mrs. Horswell was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Methodist church and W.S.C.S. and for 40 years sang in the church choir.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Harold of Maple Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Willson of Armstrong and Mrs. Herman Blom of Estherville; a sister, Mrs. Frank Shaw of Washington Court House, Ohio; two brothers, Frank and Paul Wegner, Armstrong; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Albert, who died in infancy, and her parents.
