RINGSTED - Funeral services for Roy E. Homann, 84, of Ringsted will be held, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ringsted on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor D. Lois will officiate. Interment will follow at Ringsted Memorial Cemetery in Ringsted. Christiansen-Bonnicksen American Legion Post 382 of Ringsted will provide military graveside rites. He passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong.

Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m., Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ringsted.

Roy Earnest Homann the son of John and Emma (Bredemeyer) Homann was born March 13, 1921 in Ringsted, Iowa. He passed away Sunday, August 14, 2005 at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong at the age of 84.

He graduated from Seneca High School. Following High School, he served in the United States Army as a Seargent during World War II.

Roy farmed in the Ringsted area for many years before moving into Ringsted in 1986. He also has worked for Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Ringsted since 1986.

Roy was involved with many activities including, Kiwanis, Life-time member of the American Legion, Gideons, Farm Bureau, Lutheran Laymans League, and CBI Veterans Association. Roy was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ringsted. He served as a Boy Scout Leader in Fenton for a number of years. Roy enjoyed reading in his free time.

Left to cherish Roy's memory are his sisters, Mabel Homann of Ringsted; and Florence Plummer of Rosemead, California; several nieces and nephews. Roy also was a "special grandpa" to Mandy, Alli and April Gunderson.

He has been preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Della Larsen.
