Hanson Rites To Be Held On Friday
Clarence John Hanson, 60, Wallingford, lifetime resident of Emmet County, died yesterday morning [June 11, 1963] at Holy Family Hospital of cancer. He had been in ill health for the past eight months.
Mr. Hanson was born June 27, 1902, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hanson, in rural Emmet County. He received his education in the rural Emmet County schools. He was married to the former Betty Minks on Nov. 18, 1955 in Jackson, Minn. His first wife, Maurine, died in November 1952.
Hanson had been in the trucking business since the early 1930s. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Gruver for many years and later transferred his membership to the Wallingford Lutheran Church when he moved to Wallingford.
Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Darlene) Rustad of Wallingford and Mrs. Orville (Lenora) Rustad of Boulder Creek, Calif., and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Martha Hanson of Estherville, four sisters, Mrs. John (Belle) Quastad of Estherville, Miss Tilla Hanson of Estherville, Mrs. Stanley (Genevieve) Richey of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Edward (Leora) Anderson of Estherville, and five brothers, Ernest, Laurence, Clifford, Melvin and Lester Hanson, all of Estherville. He was preceded in death by his first wife and his father.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wallingford Lutheran church with the Rev. Robert Glaser and the Rev. Benjamin Coltvet officiating. Burial will be in Wallingford Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 7 p.m. today and until 10 a.m. Friday at which time the body will be taken to the church where it will lie in state until time of service. The casket won't be opened following the service.
Active pallbearers will be Harry Anderson, Elmer Wells, Don Kirchner, Harold Graff, Charles Leupold, and Emerson Howard. Honorary pallbearers are George Berven, Ed Harvey, Philip VanDeWalle, Norman Michelson, George Calhan and Albert Richards.
