Mrs. Clara Hanson, 65, Dies Today
Mrs. Clara Maude Hanson, 65, died at 8:40 a.m. today [Oct. 22, 1964] at Holy Family Hospital from a cerebral hemmorhage. She had been in failing health for a number of months.
She was born Aug. 14, 1899 at Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Barton. She received her education in the schools at Otho and Lehigh, Iowa. She moved to Graettinger in 1916.
She was married April 19, 1918 to Clarence Hanson at Graettinger and they lived there until 1923 when they moved to Estherville.
She is survived by her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Dorothy) Spoo of Welcome; Mrs. Calvin (Berniece) Lenox of Gaylord, Minn.; Mrs. Vincent (Wanda) Marr of Estherville; Mrs. LeRoy (Beunita) Dye of Anaconda, Mont.; and Mrs. Lester (Pauline) Krie of Madison, Wis.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, three brothers, Roy Barton of Crescent City, Calif.; Raymond of Edwardsville, Kan.; and Calvin of Pueblo, Colo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Gilbert of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Alvin Engelbrecht of Mille Lacs, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Reese chapel with the Rev. William R. Noland officiating. Burial will be in East Side cemetery.
Friends may call at Reese Funeral Home Saturday after 6 p.m. until time of the service on Monday.
