WIDOW OF JOHN GRIFFITH DIES AT AGE OF 71 YEARS

Funeral Services to be Thursday

Mrs. Libby Griffith, 71, resident of Emmet county 25 years, died at her home southeast of Estherville yesterday [22 Mar 1932], after an illness of more than a year. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Presbyterian church, the Rev. Arthur G. Bailey officiating. She was a widow of John H. Griffith, prominent stockbuyer.

Mrs. Griffith has been a resident of Emmet county since 1897, living on farms near Estherville. Mr. Griffith died ten years ago and Mrs. Griffith has lived with her daughter Hattie since that time on a small acreage southeast of Estherville.

She had been an invalid for more than a year at the time of her death.

Elizabeth Wood, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar D. Wood, was born Dec. 24, 1860 in Hardin county. She was educated in the schools of Hardin county and taught school a number of years in that vicinity.

She married John H. Griffith of Union, July 24, 1884 and immediately moved to Wright county where they resided for 13 years. She has been a resident of Emmet county since 1897. Her husband died March 29, 1922.

She is survived by four children, Miss Hattie Griffith, Mrs. George Kirchner and Lee Griffith, all living on farms near Estherville, and Harry Griffith of Dolliver.
