GILBERTSON, SWAN LAKE MAN, IS DEAD
Gus Gilbertson, 77, Swan Lake farmer, died this morning [Nov. 24, 1941] at the Coleman Hospital [in Estherville]. He was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon, when a neighbor, Andros Hansen, who called at Gilbertson's home, found him ill. The bachelor farmer had had a paralytic stroke during the night. Neighbors had seen Gilbertson at work Wednesday.
Surviving Gilbertson are a brother, O. G. Gilbertson of Armstrong, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Mason of Algona. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
A resident of Emmet county most of his life, Gilbertson came here as a boy with his parents. From 1910 to 1916 he worked in Montana on a railroad, but farmed in Emmet county the rest of his life. He owned the Swan Lake farm on which he lived.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Mahlum and Anderson chapel and later Friday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran church northeast of Wallingford.
