Homer Denham Dies Suddenly
Rock Island Ry. Conductor and Long Time Resident Here

The entire community was shocked this morning when it learned of the sudden and untimely death of Homer Denham. Mr. and Mrs. Denham had only recently returned to this city to reside. Last evening Mr. and Mrs. Denham had their dinner about seven o'clock. Mr. Denham ate a good meal and sat at the table for a long time. He seemed to be having some trouble with his heart and Dr. Coleman was called. While he had not passed away when the doctor arrived, he was passed doing anything for.

Mr. Denham was on the street yesterday and visited with his friends about town. He has not been feeling in the best of health for a long time past and has had some heart trouble at times.

Homer Denham has lived in this city since he was a mere boy. He has always been the leading baseball fan of this city. When we were all kids about the city, Homer was our model baseball pitcher. It was the one sport he was most greatly interested in, although he became a football fan in later years.

He has been a director on about all the boards connected with baseball for years. He loved clean baseball and was an ardent supporter of the game and always for the better class of ball.

Mr. Denham has been connected with the railway service for the past thirty-three years. He was an active member of the O.R.C. He was a great reader and a student of railway and political activities.

Mr. Denham was born March 7, 1876, in Gillispie, Ill. He was united in marriage to Anna Fitzgerald of Ruthven December 26, 1899. They have one son, Eugene, of Little Rock, Ark. He also leaves to mourn his death two sisters and two brothers.

The sudden death came as a very severe shock to his beloved wife and she has the sypathy of the entire community. Homer Denham had a host of friends who will miss him.
