Frederic Graf Beyhl Jr., 81, of Port Byron, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center, Ilini Campus, Silvis, Ill.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Congregational Church, 1811 53rd St., Moline, Ill. A graveside military burial will be held in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gib- son Funeral Home, 202 North Main St., Port Byron.

Mr. Beyhl worked for John Deere Dubuque Works for 37 years, starting at the plant in Dubuque, and later at the John Deere Administration Building in Moline, retiring in 1982.

He was born on Oct. 2, 1924, in Stockton, Ill, son of Fred and Mary Beyhl. He married Delores Hultgren on July 28, 1944, at the Naval Air Station in San Diego.

He served his country during World War II, in the Navy as an aviation electronics man from May 1943 to Dec. 1945.

He was an avid fisherman, loved to sing, collect stamps and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Delores; sons, Roger Beyhl, of Iowa City, Iowa, David (Deb) Beyhl, of Bettendorf, Iowa, Randy (Bonnie) Beyhl, of Davenport, Iowa, and Mark (Alecia) Beyhl, of Peoria Ill.; daughters, Pat (Pete) Thorndike and Mary Drobuschevich, both of East Moline, Julia Flynn, of Geneseo, Ill., Linda (Bob) Powell, of Edgewater, Fla., and Sara (Todd) Leach, of Roscoe, Ill.; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dean (Bernice) Beyhl, of Moline; sisters, Adele (Raymond) Daack, of Paducah Ky., Lolly (Robert) Goedert and Sally (George) Haas, both of Dubuque, and Karen (Don) Heath, of Coon Rapids, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sisters; Willard (Myrtle) Wagner, Alyce (Herb) Grewe, Madelyn (Robert) Smith and Doris (George) Peil.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Union Congregational Church and the Alzheimer's Association.
