She was born on December 29th, in rural Galena, daughter of Joseph and Edna (Petitgout) Turner, and was raised in Rice Twp. She attended Green Valley School, and later earned her high school diploma (GED). Betty married Don Richardson on October 27, 1942, at St. Francis de Sales Church, in Hazel Green. Betty was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She worked at the Log Cabin, Pete's Steakburger and was Activity Director at the Galena Nursing Home for nineteen (19) years - a job she thoroughly loved. She enjoyed reading, doing hand embroidering and volunteering for the Nursing Home/Sr. Care Auxiliary cart. She was a Bulls fan and an extremely avid Cubs fan. Betty was a snappy dresser and always looked nice. She was excited to recently pass her driving test for her driver's license.

She is survived by four (4) daughters, Carolyn (Jack) Creighton, of Hazel Green, WI, Nancy (Bill) Leitzinger and Connie (Tom) Weinen, of Galena, IL, and Marsha (Drew) Potthoff, of Wookstock, IL. She is also survived by sixteen (16) grandchildren; two (2) step-grandchildren; thirty-one (31) great-grandchildren; and three (3) sisters-in-law, Dorrene (Ray) Coates, Jean Richardson and Shirley Richardson; plus many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Don; son, Dennis, at birth; her parents; a sister, Sis (Florian) Korte; two (2) brothers, Chuck (Helen) and Tom (Marie) Turner; in-laws, Len & Em Richardson; and three (3) brothers-in-law, Frank (Anne), Junie and Charles Richardson.

The family would like to "thank" the following for their kindness and compassion: The staff at Assisted Living, in Galena, the staff at Mercy and Midwest Medical Center, Dr. Allen Crist, Dr. Tom Johnson, and Hospice of Dubuque (especially Cindy).
