Dale Wacker, age 88, of Elizabeth, Illinois, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Allure Nursing Home in Mt. Carroll. A celebration of Dale's life will be held Sunday, August 7, at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service.

Dale was born May 27, 1934, in Elizabeth, Illinois, the son of Herman and Vera (Breed) Wacker. He attended Long Hollow Grade School and Elizabeth High School, graduating with the class of 1952. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist. Dale was a longtime member of the Kavanaugh Lodge #36, earning the rank of 32-degree mason, and a lifelong member of Scottish Rite Bodies in Freeport, IL.

Dale was an incredibly hard worker. He worked as a livestock farmer in Elizabeth up until 1988, and then worked for the Clinton County Club for three years. Dale went on to work as an equipment operator for the Galena Territory for five years. Dale also spent six years as a lift operator at Chestnut Mountain. Dale was an active member of the Elizabeth community. He was an executive officer of the Jo Daviess County Liberty Association for 20 years and was a member of the Jo Daviess County Taxpayer Association.

Dale will be dearly missed by his cousins Becky (Ron) Schmidt of Morrison, IL, Jim (Monica) Breed of Kewanee, IL, Issac (Jamie) Schmidt of Hanover, IL, Jacob (Megan) Schmidt Clinton, IA, and Linda Pitzen of Wooster, OH. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Vera.
