David J. Lammer, age 70 of Troy, IL, born May 6 ,1952 in Dubuque, IA, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his residence surrounded by family.
David was an Air Force veteran and had participated in “Operation Sleighbells” for the Air Force. He retired from the Department of Defense as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed woodworking and was active with Scouting with both of his sons and youth sports programs for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Murial (nee Rogers) Lammer.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet (nee Neuses) Lammer, whom he married December 30, 1972; two sons: Michael Lammer of Collinsville, IL and Aaron (Rachel) Lammer of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Rebekah (Dan) Carter of Marine, IL; three grandchildren: Chloe, Leo, Addison Carter; two brothers: Frank (Elizabeth) Lammer of Dubuque, IA and Tom (Sandy) Lammer of Woodbury, MN; two sisters: Micki (Tom) Parkin of Dubuque, IA and Jacque (Chris) Green of Iowa City, IA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 N. Lange, Maryville, IL with Father Rob Johnson celebrant. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
Memorials are suggested to Washington University School of Medicine for Parkinson's Research and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
