Arlene V. Smith, 92 of Roselle, Stockton, and Freeport IL passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Symphony Northwoods, Belvidere, IL. Private family services will be held at a later date. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born December 7, 1929, in Chicago the daughter of Triller and Blanche (Braden) Smith. Arlene was raised in Chicago. She worked in banking in her younger years. Then went into retail at Venture and Kmart for many years until her retirement. Arlene was a caregiver for her father for many years. She loved visiting with friends and neighbors, spending time with her family, and animals, playing bingo and going to the casino. Arlene is survived by her nephew, Philip W. Wiegman, niece, Sharon (Bob) Welter, three great nieces, JoAnna M., Sandra B., and Sheila A. Wiegman, sister-in-law, Annette (Ron) Marsden, her cousin, Hazel, and her dear friends, Anna Motto, and Carmella. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, T.W. “Duke” Smith, a twin sister, Dolores B. Wiegman, and a brother-in-law, Philip F. Wiegman.
