Matthew W. Schmid, age 42 of Albany, WI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at SSM-Monroe in Monroe, WI. He was born May 9, 1980 in Monroe, WI the son of Stanley and Carmen (Terpestra) Schmid. He lived in Albany his entire life where he attended Albany High School.

Matthew is survived by his father: Stanley Schmid of Albany; his daughter Amillia of Albany; three brothers: Adamm (Melissa) Schmid of Lone Rock, WI, Cody Schmid of Fond du Lac, WI, and Dustin Schmid of Albany; one sister: Amber Schmid of St. Joseph’s, MO; and his nieces and nephews: Dylan, Alister, Evan, Isabel, Sadie, and Nova. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Matthew enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He always had a good time when he was socializing with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.

A Celebration of Matthew’s Life will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Argyle Legion Park in Argyle, WI. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Matthew’s name.
