Richard Wayne Brown, 71, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 after complications with Parkinson's disease. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM, Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Pastor Pam Strakeljahn will officiate. Chapel military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5274. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Sunday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grant County Hospice. Richard was born on September 8, 1950 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, son of Robert and Joyce (Thousand) Brown. He grew up in Cuba City and graduated from Cuba City High School. He served in the United States Army. He drove truck for over 30 years for Swiss Valley and later Prairie Farms until his retirement. He enjoyed his hobby farm, his cows and cats. Richard especially enjoyed the motor cycle clubs he belonged to.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lori; sons, Jason (Susan) Brown and Ryan (Lisa) Brown; stepson, Nick Platten; six grandchildren, Andrew, Claire, Nicholas, Carter, Cooper and Corbin; sisters, Connie Johnson and Lanita (Gary) Gillett; brothers, Don (Carol) Brown, Dave (Kathy) Brown and Pete (Gina) Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dale, sister-in-law, Judy Brown and nephew, Brian Brown.
