Alvin Joseph Wilhelm 96, of Oregon Wisconsin formally of Potosi, Wisconsin passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 10, 2022, at the VA hospital Madison Wisconsin.

Alvin was born in Potosi Wisconsin to Henry and Mary Vada (Bradley) Wilhelm. Alvin joined the Navy in 1945 serving our country during WWII until 1947.

He married the love of his life for the rest of his 73 years Lucille “Susie” Leppla on May 9, 1949.

Alvin farmed and worked at Dubuque packing company; after retiring Alvin and Susie traveled the country in their coach this visiting nearly every state; but Wisconsin was always their favorite.

Alvin’s greatest enjoyment was being with his grandchildren and always making sure they had ice cream.

Alvin is survived by his wife Susie; his children Sharon Stammen of Oregon, Wisconsin; Delvin Wilhelm, of Fort Worth, Texas, Linda Wilhelm Miranda, of Oregon, Wisconsin and Donavin (Susan) of Potosi, Wisconsin. Eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

He joins in Heaven his son David; his parents; his sister Geneva Schiffman; his brother Maynard and son-in-law Larry Holpin.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at Davies Memorial UCC Church 134 N Main St, Potosi, WI from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service in British Hollow Cemetery, in Potosi, WI with military honors to be accorded.

Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.
