Death claimed Mr. Ann Kirk, age 102 years, a former Dubuquer, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Bastian in St. Paul at midnight, Monday, according to a telegram received by her son, Mr. Andrew Kirk residing at 235 Twelfth Street, Tuesday morning, burial will be held in Galena at 9 o’clock Thursday morning. Mr. Kirk to accompany the remains from this city on shipment enroute.

Formerly Resided here

Mrs. Kirk was born in Ireland but came to this country at an early date and settled in Galena where she resided in one house for sixty-five out of seventy-five years there. Her husband preceded her to the grave about thirty years ago, as did one daughter who had she lived would be past eighty years of age at the present writing. Sixteen years ago Mrs. Kirk left Galena and came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Bastian then a resident of this city. Mother and daughter remained here ten years and then moved to Minneapolis. They are well remembered in this city, several acquaintances attending the one hundredth anniversary of Mrs. Kirk’s birthday at a big celebration given in her honor at St. Paul two years ago, when the deceased danced a jig.

Her death was simply due to old age. She is survived by her one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Bastian and two sons, Mr. Andrew Kirk of Dubuque and James Kirk of LaMar’s, Ia.
