OBSEQUIES HELD FROM ST.
JOHN’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH ON
SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Hundreds of friends of the late Charles H. Baumgartner attended his funeral held from the family residence to St. John’s Episcopal Church on Sunday afternoon at three o’clock. A brief service was held at the home at one o’clock, at which Rev. Dysart conducted and Mrs. Ella Struber Hartig sang a solo. The body was then borne to St. John’s Church where the services were held at three o’clock. The Vested Boys’ Choir sang during the service, and Mrs. Florence Drummond Nelson rendered “Lead Kindly Light”. A profusion of elaborate floral offerings were placed upon the casket, gifts of love and esteem. The Masonic Fraternity and the Knights of Pythias attending the service in a body. Rev. Dysart delivered a most touching eulogy at the close of the service.

The honorary pall bearers were: Messrs. J. F. Nelson, L. W. Van Patten, John Spencer, Dr. Alderson, The actives ones were Messrs. A. J. Hartig, E. Anderson, J. H. Wallis, W. C. Leik, Judge Kintzinger, and R. P. Roedell. The ushers were: Messrs. G. D. Wybraut, Capt. Knapp, Capt. Cary, C. Kulow, and O. Longueville. The interment at Linwood was under the auspices of Dubuque Lodge No. 3 A. F. and A. M.
