Former Dubuque School Teacher
Passes Suddenly at Her Home
In Chicago

The sad news of the sudden death of Mrs. S. N. Petit was received Saturday by friends in this city. Mrs. Pettit was formerly Miss Jennie Bostater, a former Dubuque resident and for many years a teacher in the local public schools. Mrs. Pettit visited here a year ago, her first visit to her old home in thirty years, in which she renewed many friendships. She was well known in educational circles both in Dubuque and in Chicago and up to the time of her death was assistant principal in the McCoat School, South Park, a position which she held for many years. She leaves one son to mourn her death, her husband having preceded her to the grave two years ago. Her life remains a blessed memory of unselfish devotedness to others and a loving Christian character.
