Robert Richard Fishel, 93, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021. He was born on September 14, 1927, at his family home in rural Edgewood, the son of Claude and Esther (Hochhaus) Fishel. He attended Lodomillo country school for 8 years and was a graduate of Littleport High School in 1945. He began farming in 1946 and retired in 1989.

On January 3, 1983, Bob was united in marriage to Irene (Neuhaus) Tegeler at St. Mark Catholic Church. They moved to Edgewood in the fall of 1989. The couple wintered in Ft. Meyers, Florida, for 24 years.

Bob was a township trustee for many years, a 4-H leader, and a member of the board of trustee of the Farmers Institute. He was also a trustee of St. Mark Catholic Church and an usher. Bob hauled milk to Kraft Foods in Galena, Illinois, for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. Bob was a loving husband and caregiver. He also loved his grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards and going to Florida.

Survivors include his two step sons, Reynold (Alice) Tegeler of Edgewood and Harold (Mary) Tegeler of Manchester; six step grandchildren; 14 step great-grandchildren; nine step great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Delores Wakeland of Hail, Missouri, Marilyn Lamker of Monona, Rose Marie Knight of Strawberry Point, and Patricia Zach of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Fishel; one step granddaughter, Michelle Tegeler; two sisters, Roberta at birth and Dorothy Huinker; six brothers-in-law, Donald Huinker, Charles Wakeland, Duane Lamker, Dean Knight, Robert Zach, and Lyle Neuhaus; and one sister-in-law, Mary Neuhaus.
