Mary H. Zito, 92 of Galena, Illinois and formerly of St. Charles, Illinois entered eternal life on Wednesday April 14, 2021, at Prairie Ridge of Galena. Funeral service will be 4 PM Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. Family and friends may gather after 2 PM until time of service. Masks, social distancing, and capacity limits will be in effect. Burial will be at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Mary was born into life November 3, 1928, in Oak Park, Illinois the daughter of Edward C. and Mary (Collins) Arado. She was united in marriage to John Zito on August 16, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois and he preceded her in death. Mary worked many years for the Illinois Secretary of State in Chicago, Illinois. She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards, and babysitting for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her only child and beloved son, John Zito Jr., M.D., of Galena, her three grandchildren Valerie (Brian) Keets, Elliott (Michelle) and Julian and three great grandchildren Giada, Vivian and Marisa and a brother Louis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Debra A. Zito and brother Edward.
