Cut to Pieces.
Waterloo, town, Nov. 26.—Charles Starr, and Illinois Central conductor, residing at this place, was ground to pieces last night while running on a freight to Dubuque from Peosta. He was on the first section of No 52 and the three other trains passed over his body, terribly mangling it. He was missed at Dubuque, when the twitch engine was run back. The trunk was found in the middle of the track, legs to one side and head in the ditch some distance away. Starr leaves a wife and three small children here.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Feb. 12, 1865 and died Nov. 25 1897. He is buried in Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque.
