Two Deaths from a Runaway.
Dubuque, June 21.—Mrs. D. D. Myers, Mrs. Dr. Hay of this city and Mrs. Scott of Chicago, were out riding this morning, and while passing a high wall on Eleventh street the horse took fright and plunged over the wall, killing Mrs. Hay and Mrs. Scott outright and seriously injuring Mrs. Myers. Mrs. Scott's neck was broken. The accident has cast a gloom over the city. The ladies were returning from a funeral at noon. The horse run away down the steps. Mrs. D. D. Myers, wife of a wholesale tobacconist, was first thrown out, and sustained serious though not lethal injuries. Mrs. Hay, daughter of the late G. W. Jones, was next thrown out and instantly killed. Mrs. Henry Scott, the next victim, also met instant death. The horse went over a ten-foot wall and its neck was broken.
