Mrs. Johanna Lahey, pioneer of Dubuque county, was called by death at her home in Epworth at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Lahey was born in Lowell, Mass., in 1838, and at the age of twelve moved with her parents to Dubuque, and later to Bankston where she was united in marriage to James Lahey, who preceded her to the grave.
She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Richard of Epworth, James of Farley, and three daughters, the Misses Monica and Lucy of Epworth and Mrs. Alice Wolf of Twin Falls, Idaho. Also two sisters, Mrs. Kennedy of Bankston and Mrs. Callahan of Dubuque.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at Bankston at 10 o'clock.
