Paul Theobald, of 2401 Stafford avenue, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday report to Gov. Robert D. Blue.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Strueber funeral home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Theobald was born in Bliesbureken, Alsace and as a young man came to Dubuque with his parents. He was a machinist with the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific railroad company for 45 years and was affiliated with the International Association of Machinists, local No. 379.
He was a member of Sacred Heart church. His first wife, the former Josephine Vogel, preceded him in death Dec. 20, 1926. He was married to the former Helen Malsnar Stansfield April 22, 1942.
Survivors are his wife, one son, Raymond Theobald, of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Margaret) Clark, of Kansas City, Mo., and Miss Lucille Theobald, of Dubuque; two brothers, Peter and Joseph Theobald, both of Dubuque, two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Miller, of Dubuque and Mrs John. Sanders, of Madison, S.D.; and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother Jacob.
