—The REPUBLICAN should have mentioned last week the death of Mrs. H. L. Griffith, of Elkader, on the 18th inst. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Lathrop, of Dubuque, a graduate of the high school of her native city, and married the junior editor of the Elkader Register on the l6th of last June. The Democrat says “her womanly virtues, generous nature and kindness of heart had won a substantial place in the affections of all who knew her.”

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Flora May who was born March 3, 1875 and is buried in Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque County. It also shows her maiden name spelled Lothrop.
