—Nicholas Jaegar{sic}, of Dubuque, a man well known throughout northeastern Iowa, died at his home Tuesday morning from dropsy, a disease which he contracted during the war while imprisoned at Andersonville, Ga. He leaves a wife and six children. Mr. and Mrs. G. Jaeger went to Dubuque yesterday to attend the funeral. They were not related.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name spelled Jaeger. It shows he died March 23, 1897 and is buried in Linwood Cemetery. The date of birth is unknown.
