Rebecca A. (Long, Greve) Torres, age 65, of Dubuque, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Ennoble Manor. To celebrate Rebecca’s life, a private family reading will be done by Pastor Maxx Tone. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, is helping the family.

Rebecca was born on October 21, 1955, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Roy J. and Beverly (Haskell) Long.

Rebecca married Freddie Torres on October 20, 1995, at Grace Community Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was the Pastor’s assistant. She was a 1973 graduate of Stephen Hempstead High School. Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, crafts, and her various volunteer opportunities throughout the years. She was always eager to help a person in need. Rebecca will be remembered for her humor and generosity. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Adam Greve, Dubuque, IA;

2 daughters,
Elizabeth (Henry) Ayala, Pearl City, HI
and Sarah (Russ) Schlotfeldt, Dubuque, IA;

her best friend and sister,
Raechel (Jim) Cole, Dubuque, IA
and 4 other sisters;

and 6 grandchildren,
Kyler and Gabriel Ball, Marissa Weiner, and Kayden, Trevian and Zakarian Ayala.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Nick Long; special friend, Linda Hayes; and a grandson, Kael H. Ball.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hermann, Hospice of Dubuque and Ennoble for their wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be accepted by the family to be distributed among her favorite charities and may be mailed to Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, Dubuque, Iowa 52001, Attn. Rebecca Torres Family.
