Mrs. Eliza Allen, aged 68 years, died Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family residence, 619 Fourteenth street. She was a native of the county Fermanagh, Ireland, and came to America in 1842, taking up her residence in Galena and remaining there until 1880 when she removed to Dubuque with her husband and children. Mr. Allen died two years ago. Four sons and two daughters survive. They are Robert, William, Samuel and James, the latter is a member of the fire department, and Mrs. Mary A. Schonberger and Mrs. Belle Knudtson. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev.H.E. Mott, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church, will conduct services at the residence. Interment will be in Linwood cemetery. A good and true woman after a long life of usefulness has gone to her eternal reward.
