Frank Tigges, who had ben ailing for the past four weeks, died at the family home, 2946 Central avenue, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning from the home to the Holy Ghost church, where requiem high mass will be read at 9 o'clock. Burial will be made in Mount Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Tigges was born in Germany April 20, 79 years ago and had resided in this country for the past 70 years. He came to American when 9 years old, settling in Sherrill. He moved to Dubuque 19 years ago. He was a member of the Holy Ghost parish and the Holy Name society of that parish. He died comforted by the last rites of his religion.
He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Maray[sic] Raab, Mrs. Joseph Hirsch, Mrs. John Heitzman, Mrs. H.F. Luthe, Dubuque, and Mrs. Thomas Leonard, Clinton; four sons, George, Sherrill, Oscar, Edmund and Alfred, Dubuque; 40 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two brothers, John, Dubuque, and Bernard, Sherrill.
Mr. and Mrs. Tigges had planned to celebrate their gold wedding anniversary Feb. 28.
