Marjorie L. “Margie” (Gibbons) Dugan, age 90, of Dubuque, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, October 10, 2020. To celebrate Margie’s life, family and friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street. Due to the COVID-19 concerns, all who attend will be required to wear a face covering. To honor Margie’s life, funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, at Behr Funeral Home, with Deacon John Stierman officiating. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens.

Margie was born on June 7, 1930, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Krocheski) Gibbons.

Margie attended school at Holy Ghost Grade School and went on to graduate from the IC Academy, Class of 1948. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald Dugan, on December 15, 1950, in San Francisco, California, and the two became inseparable. They were blessed with 67 wonderful years together, and 5 children, before he sadly passed away on August 25, 2018. After they married, Margie embraced her full time role of wife, mother and homemaker, loving every minute of caring for her family and home. She was never known to sit down and her home was always kept immaculate. In her free time, she enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, taking the family along and happily winning a few big jackpots in her day. Margie also liked to spend time in the great outdoors at her favorite fishing spot. Margie’s faith was very important to her, she was a devout Catholic and long time member of St. Anthony’s Church and the Infant of Prague Mother’s Club. Her greatest joy was no doubt found in spending time with her family, they were her pride and joy and she made sure everyone knew how much they meant to her. We are deeply saddened at losing our sweet mom, grandma, great-grandma and sister so suddenly from our daily lives, but are grateful for the 90 years we have had her here on this Earth with us. We do however, find some comfort in knowing that she and dad are now happily reunited for all Eternity.
