—Benny Kaiser, a twelve-year-old boy, of Dubuque, after taking his father’s dinner to-day went for a swim in the Mississippi where he supposed the water was shallow. He ventured beyond his depth, went down and was drowned.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Bernhardt who was born Jan. 11, 1888 and died Aug. 14, 1899. He is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
