Burned Alive.
Mrs. Marinda Meeker, aged 88 years, was burned to death Sunday morning at the home of her son-it-law, near Rockdale, Dubuque county. Fire started in her bed room and communicated to her clothing. Before it could be extinguished she was so badly burned that she died within a few hours, it is supposed fire started from her pipe, as she was an inveterate smoker.
