Dolly T. Aldunate (1955-2020)

Dolly T. Aldunate 65, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on July 15, 2020 survived by her amazing children, grandchildren and extended family that never left her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 20th, 2020 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Born June 5th, 1955 in Cochabamba Bolivia daughter of Gerardo Aldunate and Paulina Saurez. Dolly Trinidad Aldunate was a very kind loving studious child. She grew up with her sister Rosemary and brothers Ever, Patrin and David. She moved to Mexico to finish school before coming to the United States, where she went to college at the University of Dubuque. Dolly then became a Teacher at Holy Angels School, she taught Spanish, tutored students in math, was a substitute teacher and she was very proud of all the students she educated. Later on she moved to Iowa, calling the farm her home with her mother Paulina and stepfather George Hying near Dubuque.

Dolly had made many close friendships throughout her years at the Silver Eagle, Diamond Jo and the business she started to support her children.

Dolly raised her three amazing children The Mother of The Legendary Tow Truck Charlie , her Favorite daughter Anna and her Angel Michael. Her children were her world and have been her biggest supporters throughout her achievements and work. They stood by her in some of the toughest times in her life they were loyal to her, she was the best single mother they could have ever asked for. She took the time to give them what they needed and focused and supported all of them till the end. She cherished so much in her 65 years, the most special to her was the Hispanic community at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Dubuque. She had devoted 20 years to the community that helped her through alot of difficult times in her life. Dolly was an active member of the Faith Formation Commission for Saint Patricks. Dolly had participated in many other group volunteer projects over the years.

Anyone who knew her, knew her proudest memories in her life was spending time with her grandchildren, she was always present for orchestra & ballet performances, concerts for all the grandchildren. She would spend everyday with them if she could, they were everything to her. She was always devoted to each and every one of them her. Nightly conversations with the grandchildren was a ritual they all knew, Mamita as they all called her was their biggest fan. They talked about school, music, dancing and movies. They all looked forward to either dinner and ice cream dates and visits to the river and park. Mamita was especially proud that her oldest grandchild, who is preparing to attend college next fall.

Moms door was always open for visits you just had to remember the Coffee! And all her kid's closest friends became her adopted children, she loved them and their children as her own. They were and always will be family to her.

She leaves behind her three amazing children, Charles Lippstock(Sami Schmidt), Anna Aldunate (Bernie Wagner) Michael Lippstock (Crystal Hazelwood). Her grandchildren, Maya, Anola, Lena, Tru, Layton, Carter, Dominic, Laynee, Vayda, and Roman. Her brother and sister in law David Aldunate (Marilyn Kennedy) nieces, Natasha (Sharif) Walker, Katricia(Miguel) Zuniga, and nephews Nader (Sam) Halawa, Chris(Jenni)Kennedy, Cory(Jess)Kennedy.

Her brother in law Mufid, sister in law Elma, Sister in law Diane along with many cousins, nieces and nephews in Chicago, Bolivia, Japan, Spain, and Brazil.

She is preceded in death by her parents Gerardo Aldunate, Paulina and George Hying, her brothers Ever & Patrin Porcel, her sisters Sharon Hying, Rosemary Halawa and Nephew Delayon Wilson.

The family would like to thank the Staff that cared for her at Mercy Hospital, Manor Care and special thanks to Dr. Niemer and his team.
