Old Dubuquer Dies in Selby, California

Mrs. Magdalina Rose Stiefbold, a pioneer resident of this city, who was taken by death last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Young, who resides in Selby, Cal., will be buried in Linwood cemetery in this city Wednesday afternoon. The remains will arrive in Dubuque tomorrow afternoon and will be taken to Walton's chapel where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock.

Mrs. Stiefbold is well known in Dubuque for she resided in this city for many years and the news of her death comes as a shock to her many friends here. The deceased was born in Wallenstadt, Canton St. Gallen, Switzerland, ninety one years ago, and came to Dubuque when it was only a village. She resided here until a year ago when she moved west with her daughters.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles Staufenbiel, of Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Emma Krueter, of San Francisco, Mrs. Robert Young, of Selby, Cal., and Mrs. Frank Kaltenbach, of San Francisco, and three sons, Henry O. and Charles Rose, both of this city and Edward Rose, of Spokane, Wash. A daughter, Mrs. G. A. Schenkowitz, died five years ago.
