JANET G. (LINK) WINN June 11, 1946 ~ June 5, 2018

Janet G. (Link) Winn, 71 of Red Bluff passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on June 5, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer, which she fought with a faith-filled spirit. Jan was born to Sylvester and Alice Link in Dubuque, IA June 11, 1946. She attended St. Francis Grade School, Balltown, IA and Holy Cross Catholic High School, Holy Cross, IA. After attending Dubuque Beauty Academy, she worked for 10 years as a hairdresser in Dubuque, IA.

Jan married David Winn May 15, 1971 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Balltown, IA. In 1975, they moved from Cuba City, WI to Red Bluff, CA. She worked 18 years for Dr. Joe Stricker as a dental assistant, then worked 13 years in the Parish office of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Parish from the time she moved to Red Bluff: volunteering with RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) for over 35 years, serving as a member of the Liturgy committee, and a member of the choir for 40 years.
Jan enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband Dave and socializing with friends.

Jan is survived by her husband, Dave D. Winn; mother, Alice Link of Dubuque, IA; brothers, Allan (Alice) Link and Loras (Tammy) Link of Balltown, IA; sisters, Carol (Ron) LeGrand of Dubuque, IA and LuAnn (Steve) Small of Madrid, IA; brother-in-law, Philip (JoAnn) Winn of Monroe, NC; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Dennis) Alt of Hudson, IA and Janan Winn of North Liberty, IA; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester Link; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert and Jeanette Winn; sister-in-law, Christine Winn; brother-in-law, Alan Winn.

A visitation will be held at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers, Red Bluff, CA, June 10, 4-7 p.m. with the rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be June 11 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Michael Hebda officiating at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Red Bluff, CA. Hoyt-Cole is handling the arrangements. Burial and memorial service will be held in Balltown, IA at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to neighbors, friends, and the staff at Dignity Health Mercy Oncology Center, Redding, CA for their wonderful care and continuous support given to Janet and her family.
