Miss Sarah McClain, a resident of Prairie Creek township, passed away Saturday morning at Mercy hospital, in Dubuque, following an illness of one week with pneumonia. The deceased was born July 15, 1870, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard McClain of Whitewater township. She is survived by one sister and two brothers, Mrs. James Rea, Hugh and John H. McClain, all of Dubuque county.

The funeral was held on Monday morning at 9 o'clock from the family residence in Prairie Creek to St. John's Catholic church at Pleasant Grove.
