Died at a Carnival

Hattie Richardson, 17 years old, while arrayed as maid to the queen, her sister, at a Mother Goose carnival held in Dubuque under the Methodist church auspices, was stricken with paralysis and died a few hours after her removal from the hall. She was the daughter of the late George H. Richardson, a wealthy boot and shoe manufacturer.
